About Dr. Kimberly Taft
Dr Kimberly Taft (B.Sc., DVM) obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Purdue University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr Taft began her career as a small animal practitioner in Minnesota and Wisconsin. In 2013, Dr Taft moved to Roatan, Honduras and worked as a staff veterinarian for the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences, where her patients included Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, monkeys, and even an anteater. In 2016, Dr Taft returned to the United States and continued working as a small animal practitioner. Although she was born and raised in Minnesota, it was a dream of hers to live in BC. In 2025, Dr Taft was able to make that a dream a reality and moved to Victoria to join Downtown Veterinary Clinic.
Dr Taft enjoys making connections with clients and pets, and helping pets live their healthiest life. Her favorite part of the day is performing general surgery.
She shares her home with Stewart, 6-poundnd Shih Tzu. Stewart makes up for his small size with his big personality!
During her time off, Dr Taft enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, reading, hiking, and walking on the beach. Stewart doesn't SCUBA dive, but he enjoys sharing all the rest of life's adventures with Dr Taft
